I wonder if the schedule would be changed with teams that didn't make it this weekend register today

32 teams so far for PPL. Not counting the teams just signing up to play in the lowest division of PPL.

17 for APL.

not sure where the 7 eliminated yesterday will be signing up.

cooler temps this weekend for the teams playing in the tournament.

With so many teams in the placement tourney what happens to the teams in the bottom half teams of the tourney? It looks like there are 24 teams in the placement tourney...

Every team will get placed. I think 19 total will be D1 the rest will get placed in the other divisions. There will be as many division as needed. D1, D2, D3 etc.

Some teams get a bye and go straight into D1. I'm assuming those are the 7 that were eliminated yesterday.

The will play half of the 18 games in the fall and then the other half in the spring.

I am not sure what those soccer balls mean, If I was guessing I would say it tell us 1st and 2nd places. Most likely both 1st and 2nd teams go to D1. For now of course they dont mean much since no games are have been played.

Why would they get a bye and go to D1? I guess our team could have played and made the second weekend and got a bye if we knew that.

I was in the Plano office yesterday. I was told D1 has already been set. I overheard them talking on the phone so I ask.

Per Plano,

Division 1 = 19 teams; Division 2 = 10 teams; Division 3 = 10 teams or all remaining teams depending upon numbers registered; Division 4 (if needed) = all remaining teams. The Placement Tournament Committee will have final say on how the number of teams in a  bracket are determined. There will be no Promotion/Relegation in the U11 age group.

Byes = 7 teams at most (this number will depend on the number of teams registering in the PPL from the second weekend of the Boys Classic Qualifying Tournament. Lowest = 8 teams. Total number of teams is unknown at this time.

Placement Tournament Format: 8 Brackets of 4 Teams. Winner of each bracket (8) + 4 WC will be Division 1. The number of WC teams may increase depending on the number of teams registering for the PPL from BC QT. Division 2 will be the next 10 teams with highest points. Division 3 will be the next 10 teams ranked by points.

Re: PPL placement tournament

No Promotion/Relegation for U11 wouldn't apply with this age group. The U11's are essentially required to do the placement since it is their first year (with exception of 7 teams with byes). There will be 19 teams in D1, then 10 in each division from D2 down through the final division.

The promotion/relegation will apply starting after Fall 2014 season. At that point the bottom two teams from D1 will be relegated (ie, moved down) to D2. At the same time, the top 2 teams from D2 will be promoted to D1.

Here is some info on how PPL currently states the U12-U14 would work starting this year. Of course, this could change by the time the 03's move into U12 next year.

U12-U14
• Each of these age groups will have 10 teams in D1 and D2 and the remainder of the teams will be placed in D3 or D4 if applicable
• All teams must have N+1 from the Spring Roster as of April 1, 2013 to be considered for a BYE.
• From the F12/S13 standings the top 10 teams in D1 will receive a BYE and will be F13’s D1
• If a PPL D1 top 10 team does not return or makes Classic/Lake Highlands we will accept a Classic or Lake Highlands team in their place. With N+1
• 4 BYES will be given in D2 leaving 6 places for qualification. Team’s in 11th and 12th place from F12/S13 D1 will be offered a BYE and 2 other BYES will be offered at the discretion of the VP Competitive, this may include the top teams from D2.
• At the end of the fall season awards will be presented to the top 2 teams in D1 and D2
• Then the top two teams in D2 will be promoted to D1 and the bottom two teams in D1 will be relegated to D2. All points will be removed.
• At the end of the spring season awards will be given to the top 2 teams in D1 and D2
*D3/D4 groups may not have parity of play
*N+1 is based on your roster as of April 1, 2013 and is half your roster size plus 1. For example if you have 18 players then you need 10 returning players to maintain your N+1.

Do we know who from the second weekend of classic is partisipating in PPL and who will be in Arlington? I know Liverpool Callaghan will be in PPL and will have a bye. Who else? There might be more spots for the Qualifying tournament winners if not all 7 join PPL

FF,  unsure which teams will play in APL.  Tigres and Strikers both played in CAL so it is up in the air.  I expect FCD and the Texans to be a lock for PPL.  I would imagine AFC will go there as well.  Not sure on Nacionals as I have no idea where they played before QT.
