Post by tpitty on 6/13/2017, 11:55 am

What is the details with the major move by AP and TT? --keeping fields in Plano I am assuming. How many teams, etc?
Anyone with insight as to why they are leaving? Asking for a "friend" Cool

I only know what parents have been told:
[1] LFCA promised a few years back to upgrade the legacy TFC Plano facility with real lights but it has not happened
[2] Compared to LFCA, AAS is less expensive i.e. no add-on fundraisers and a much cheaper kit
[3] LFCA promises to build the new facility next to McInnish Park labeled "a scam" as they even collected a special targeted fee from parents for this two years ago
[4] More consistent, focused coaching across AAS teams and more player mobility within club
[5] LFCA supposedly hamstrung the coaches in some unspecified manner
[6] AAS website supposed to be coming online any day
[7] All AP/TT/GP coached teams coming day 1 - probably 10 teams total or so to start
[8] It was said teams from other clubs also coming, maybe a few still from LFCA but no specifics

Presumably the initials are referring to coaches who were part of the coaching leadership at Liverpool over the past few years--Armando Pelaez and Tim Trevino. Not sure about GP--possibly Giampaulo Pedroso, but he left Liverpool a year or two ago and last I heard was with HP Scots. No idea what AAS refers to--presumably a club or facility.

Regarding Gemini's point #3, this facility was discussed in great detail with me by someone very high up in the club during the spring of my son's U10 year. It was going to be ready by the end of his U11 year. He's wrapping up his U16 year--no facility has been built, but I did see some publicity shots recently that they had broken ground. I understand there are delays with these sorts of projects, but this anecdote should illustrate the extreme optimism and unrealistic scenarios this organization constantly pitches to its customers/prospects.

AAS = American Academy of Soccer, the new club.

Doesn't really roll off the tongue. I thought TT was a marketing guy deep down inside. Needs the word Elite in there somewhere. Elite Academy of Soccer (EAS). Then they could ripoff the EA Sports logo and draw in all the best FIFA players.

I saw this team listed in a tournament recently and was confused when I clicked on it and saw Liverpool 07B Lidell came up...makes more sense now, kind of.

LP is the biggest club with the most financial backing that just can't quite get it all put together.

I guess that is where all the field maintenance $ from BlueSky Keller went. Passing by on Monday there were 6 teams training on a 100 x 100 yard space with shin high weeds. jocolor show

Any idea if Trevino will keep his D1 bye for his '02 team?

Blue Sky Sports Center??? But what about the capital campaign for "Anfield America"? Where is the money that was raised from the 'buy a brick', 'name a locker room' campaign? Is that now going towards Blue Sky? I still wonder how a for profit corporation can legally run a capital campaign fundraiser much less their annual raffle/flower fundraisers.

It is my understanding the Trevino and Peleaz classic eligible LFCA teams keep their classic status under the AAS banner if enough players return - which currently appears to be the case.

This is where LP offers full rides to 5 kids on those teams to keep the bye.

Sue them. Everyone has suspected for some time the funds from Blue Sky and LFCA have been co-mingled. Get that Garland mom to start emailing Brody.

Good luck. I suspect you will find a lot of moving goal posts.
