We will need more information to determine if he is a fit for the Texans, the following information must be provided at a minimum;

40 yard dash times
Current height & doctor estimated final height
Current weight
Estimated timeframe to hit puberty
Low/High Tolerance to verbal abuse - please circle one
Household Income

If we like the answers provided, we will move on to phase 2.

This applies to more than just the Texans for sure. However, the Texans do seem to have a couple that lead the pack.

Surely this is a red flag, no?

Why don't you just ask if your coaches can harass their kids?

I assumed this was a joke and not an official Texans questionnaire.   But you never know.

The NTX Soccer system (s) are broke, and geared around the clubs, and winning (don't let them fool anyone otherwise) and not the kids, especially at the top clubs, which we will call the big 3 for now.  Likely the big 2 soon and then only FCD after that.  All 3 of these clubs have coaches at the top with bigger egos than brains, and they all like to take their competitiveness and failures in life out on the kids unfortunately.  So to answer your question CoachP, there are more red flags than the United Nations at these clubs, but unfortunately if you want to train with top talent and play in the top leagues, which usually is best to make Johnny better, than you have to play the Minesweeper game.

And the smaller or independent teams are certainly not immune to the crazies either. Take Odyssey for example, solid team always competing for the top spots, and honestly I'm not sure what the practices are like, but listening to that coach scream the whole game until he loses his voice is comical and at times unbearable.

And talk about crazies, you should meet that manager of theirs. Twisted Evil

Thanks for the offer but I'll pass, have a crazy coach of our own to deal with. And btw, don't all managers have to be crazy to take that thankless job, unless of course, there is a good underlying reason for it.

Crazy...like a fox.  Or is that a meerkat?   Or Jamie Foxx?   In Django Unchained, obv.  What were we talking about?

Oh yeah, Odyssey practices.  They mostly just involve preparing for their last 2014-2015 CL game so they can maybe get 2nd place and prove PLF correct.    Very Happy   I don't know, it all seems pretty normal for me.   Not a lot of cursing or just tossing a ball out to scrimmage.   Just a bunch of little kids practicing soccer.   Cheers.

Re: 03 Boy looking for team

I am sickened by the behavior since I have came down to Texas. I was forced to stand on the sideline and listen to a "coach" scream and cuss at both his players and mine. I think that what people call "politics" is not politics at all down here. It is just blatant disrespect that I see in some clubs, coaches, parents, and eventually kids.

There is no reason for all of this. Set an example. I am not in any way speaking to influence how people see me or my club but I am speaking due to a build-up of frustration with things that I am seeing both on and off the pitch. We are here to make these players better. When I say better, I mean their physically, mentally, and with their social abilities. These players want to win and so do I (and other coaches) but what they really need is to be in an environment that is safe where they are having fun. Just go out and show them how to improve and develop themselves by respecting them, giving them guidance, giving them  positive motivation, and the ability to interact with others. The best players AND teams are the ones having fun and I think there are too many teams taking the fun out of the game.
